All In (The Blackstone Affair, #2)

About Naked:

When ultra successful London businessman, Ethan Blackstone, buys her nude portrait, he isn’t taking ‘no’ for an answer. He wants Brynne in his bed and makes plans to keep her there no matter what. His dominant nature captivates and ensnares despite the demons she carries inside her. But there are secrets in this relationship. Huge ones. Can Ethan free Brynne from the past that has marked her? Will Brynne let him or will the specters tormenting her resurface to destroy them both…

About All In:

Their passion together was explosive, but their secrets are even darker and more frightening. With political threats directed at Brynne, Ethan has no choice but to fight for her, to win her love, and to protect her from the very dangers that could take her away from him forever. He’s willing to risk everything to have Brynne and to keep her safe. He’ll go all in…

My Review:

These books were fairly short and I read one right after the other so I thought I would review them together.  I do not usually read erotica, so these were a bit out of my comfort zone.  I saw these books  got some good reviews on Goodreads so I thought I would give them a try.  I was intrigued by the story line, Ethan buys a nude portrait of Brynne and becomes obsessed with her immediately.  They both have trust issues and dark pasts that haunt them and it seems to draw them even closer together.  I enjoyed this part of the story a lot.  All of the detailed sex scenes became a bit too much for me though and I ended up not enjoying the books as much as I thought I would.

In the first book Ethan came off strong, sexy, and in control.  By the second book he was beyond obsessed, needy, and constantly calling Brynne baby or his girl which for some reason drove me nuts.  I also got tired of hearing about how perfect her body was all the time, it just got boring for me.

The books are supposed to also be about Brynne's life being in danger but we never get any real details about the danger and the whole story line seems to drag along.  I felt like some more time on the plot line and less time on the sex scenes would have helped the book a lot.  Of course, this is just my opinion, I have seen rave reviews for these books so I think I am in the minority here.  Personally, I like to have some interesting characters and a good story line to go along with a romance and I just did not get that with these books.

My rating: 2 1/2 stars out of 5

I received these books from NetGalley for review.
